Samuelle Grande
Extra Ordinary

From November 27, 2025 to January 10, 2026

Galerie Nicolas Robert, Toronto is pleased to present Extra Ordinary, a solo exhibition of Samuelle Grande’s most recent paintings. Merging the language of abstraction with representational elements and scenes, these new oil on canvas works offer open-ended relationships between form and dreamlike new narratives. With a practice rooted in exploring an interplay between memory and imagination, she draws from an array of found materials and personal experience to construct visual scenarios. Similar to short stories, the paintings are both playful and enigmatic, and display an acute sensibility for colour relation. In imagery, form, colour and texture–memory and imagination coalesce–offering a glimpse into extraordinary experiences in our ordinary moments.

Samuelle Grande lives and works in Tiohtià:ke-Mooniyang-Montreal. She holds an MFA from the University of Guelph (2023) and a BFA (Honours) in Studio Arts from Concordia University. Grande has exhibited across Canada and the United States, including at the NADA NYC (2025), Art Gallery of Guelph (2023), and Galerie Nicolas Robert in Toronto and Montreal. In 2024, she completed an artist residency at Fool’s Paradise, the Doris McCarthy residency in Scarborough, ON. Grande is the recipient of several awards, including the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation (2024, 2023), the Canadian Federation of University Women Award (2023) and the Tony Sherman Graduate Scholarship (2021).
