April 21 to May 22nd, 2021

Galerie Nicolas Robert is pleased to present the exhibition Ondulations by Montreal artist Maude Corriveau. For her first solo exhibition at the gallery, the artist finely manipulates both dry pastel to create illusions that disorient the eye. Together, her works form a dialogue of textures, lines and colours originating from the drawings and influencing the frames and the sculptures. The perceptual strategies developed in Corriveau's pictorial compositions create a wave that runs through us and raises a reflection on our conception of the representation of reality.

Maude Corriveau lives and works in Montreal (QC). She holds a BFA (2009) and an MFA (2020) in Visual and Media Arts from Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). Corriveau is the recipient of the 2019 Yvonne L. Bombardier Graduate Fellowship in Visual Arts. Her work has been shown at Galerie Nicolas Robert, Art Toronto, Papier and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA), among others. Her work is part of the Prêt d'œuvres d'art (CPOA) collection of the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (MNBAQ), the Ubisoft collection and numerous private collections in Canada.
